Katie Lee Ward Geddie

Katie Lee Ward Geddie, 98, went to be with the Lord on October 28, 2014. She was the first of five children born to Lillie May Allen and Thedy Thomas Ward, on August 23, 1916 in Cleveland County, NC.

Before relocating from Whitaker Glen in Raleigh, NC to The Pines at Davidson, NC, Katie Lee was a devoted member of Hayes Barton UMC in Raleigh, NC, where she had been active in the UMW and was a member of the Wesleyan Fellowship Class. She was an accomplished homemaker, loving wife and mother, excellent cook and bridge player.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her devoted husband of 67 years, Edgar McPhail Geddie Sr., two sisters and one brother. Survivors include sister, Nell Ward Watson of Southern Pines, NC; son, Edgar McPhail (Mac) Geddie, Jr. (Ann) of Stanley, NC; daughter, Kathryn Ward Geddie of Chattanooga, TN; son, Donald Thomas Geddie (Sue) of Jamestown, NC; four grand-children; and nine great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends on Friday, October 31, 2014 from 1-2 PM at the Mausoleum Chapel of Raleigh Memorial Park, with Funeral Services to be held at 2 PM in the Mausoleum Chapel. Interment will follow.
