Kimberly Tad Heath

Kimberly Tad Heath, 60, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 14 with his family by his side. Tad was born in Snow Hill, NC on December 23, 1959. He spent his early years in Elm City until his family moved to Wilson. Graduating from Ralph L. Fike High School in 1979, Tad played football, and served as President of both the Senior Class and the Key Club.

He received his BA from UNC Chapel Hill in 1985 where he was an active member of Zeta Psi Fraternity.

After college Tad moved to Raleigh where he lived for 32 years. He coached Raleigh Youth Little League football and was a longtime member of White Memorial Presbyterian Church. Tad enjoyed the Y Guides program with his daughter Chandler, and loved attending Carolina football games. He was always generous with his time and doing for others brought him great joy. Examples of his outreach included taking underserved children under his wing and adopting families at Christmastime.

While living in Raleigh Tad sold commercial real estate and later was owner/operator of a small paving company. Tad’s real interest, environmental solutions, began in 2000 at Jackson-Hale Environmental. Since joining CECO Environmental in 2005, he held several positions including Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Business Development. Most recently, Tad served as Manager of Product Training. He loved his work and the people he worked with, dedicating so much energy and enthusiasm to each position. He is remembered by his colleagues for his encouragement and support, his technical knowledge and teaching skills, and most of all, his friendship. Tad took a personal interest in his colleagues, always helping them advance their careers. He considered so many of them to be family.

Tad lived life to the fullest. He is remembered and respected by so many, far and wide, for his faith, his zest for life and extraordinary positive attitude.

In 2017, Tad and his wife Barbara moved to Newport, NC, restoring a house where they, along with their families would enjoy boating, fishing, and watching sunsets over Bogue Sound. Tad was a gracious host but was known to assign yard duties to visitors to his little slice of heaven. He was a member of Cape Carteret Presbyterian Church and loved his time with the men of the church.

Tad is survived by his wife Barbara (Wray) of Newport, NC, daughter Chandler Heath of Raleigh, nephew Stillman Heath of Wilson, step-daughter Anna Chapin Tamarri of Florence, SC, and step-son Will Tamarri of Raleigh. He also leaves behind his brothers, Joe Heath (Vickie) of Kenly, NC, Buddy Heath (Mary Jo) and Tim Heath of Hampstead, NC, and many special cousins, nephews, aunts, uncles, and lifetime friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Earl Heath and Mavis Skinner Heath, and his brothers, Dalton Heath and Donnie Heath.

A memorial service to celebrate Tad’s life will take place at a time when everyone is able to safely gather again.
