

He was born December 17, 1959 in Raleigh to the late Harry and Eulalia Marchant. He graduated from Sanderson High School in 1978, and then attended East Carolina University. For most of Kinney’s life he lived in Raleigh. For several years he also lived in Jacksonville, NC, before moving back to Raleigh recently. Kinney’s passion and love was reflected in his 30 year career in the music entertainment industry. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend. He was known for his unique sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh.
Surviving are his three siblings, sister, Julie R. Marchant and brother-in-law, Mike Bolus of Raleigh; sister, Leslie Marchant Evans and brother-in-law, Earl M. Evans of Fuquay-Varina; brother, Jack L. Marchant and wife, Susan of Charlotte; nieces and nephews, Allison and Patrick Evans, Jake and Adele Marchant; and Emili Anderson.
A memorial service to celebrate Kinney’s life will be held Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at Bay Leaf Baptist Church, 12200 Bayleaf Church Road Raleigh. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
