

Lloyd was born in Kingston, Jamaica on April 26, 1939. Lloyd graduated from Kingston Technical High School where he majored in the electrician and auto mechanics program.
Lloyd was married to Madeline on August, 28, 1972. Of this union they had two children, Anthony and Dawn. Lloyd and Madeline were married for 51 wonderful years.
Lloyd loved his family unconditionally and they were so proud that he was also a father figure to many of his children's friends, neighbors and teammates creating bonds that are still present to this day.
Lloyd worked many jobs as an auto mechanic. He last worked for Wakefern Food Corporation for 17 years where he was a Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic until his retirement in 2005. Lloyd enjoyed listening to music as well as watching soccer and track & field. He also enjoyed making others laugh and smile with his boisterous sense of humor and devious yet funny antics.
Lloyd is survived by his wife Madeline Williams, son, Anthony Williams (Kimberly), and daughter, Dawn Fontenelle (Sylvester), grandchildren Alaya Rodriguez-Williams and Asa Williams all of whom live locally in NC. He is also survived by his brother Carol Walker (Anita) of District Heights, MD, sister Norma Grant of Kingston, Jamaica as well as a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Lloyd is preceded in death by father Charles Williams, mother Alsey Gooden, and grandson, Kamari Williams.
The celebration of life will be held at 3pm on Friday August 9th, 2024 at Mitchell's Funeral Home. Reverend Eddie Williams Jr. of Kinches Chapel Church will be officiating. Visitation will be held at 2pm on Friday August 9th at Mitchell’s Funeral Home preceding the funeral service.
The family of Lloyd Williams would like to extend our sincerest thanks to all of our extended family, church family and friends. We would also like to thank the staff of Davita Dialysis Center, Duke Hospital and Hospice Service as well as the staff and residents of The Cambridge of Brier Creek.
