She was the only child of the late Ralph and Marion Alexander of Pittsburgh, PA; the loving wife of M. James Hollis of Raleigh; devoted mother to her sons, the Reverend Thomas M. Hollis, and wife Ann of Cary, and James Hollis of Deerfield, IL; and a doting grandmother to Lindsay and Breanne Hollis.
Lorraine had a long and varied business career, at one time working for the President of US Steel. After the children left for college, she worked for the foreign language department at N.C. State University.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11am at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 Saint Mary’s Street. A reception will be held one hour prior to the service in the Wynne Center. Burial will be held at Raleigh Memorial Park.
