She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter C. Lewis in 1999. She is survived by her three children; Freddie and wife, Laura of NJ, daughter, Laura and Phil Upchurch of Raleigh, and son, Wade of Raleigh; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and brother, Oscar Haskins of Creedmoor, N.C.
A graveside service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Historic Oakwood Cemetery, Raleigh. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association-Eastern NC, 3739 National Drive, Suite 110, Raleigh, N.C. 27612 or Wake County SPCA.
