Louis Felipe Rivera, 81, passed away peacefully on September 19th, 2011, at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, NC. He was born on January 28, 1930 in New York, NY, to his parents the late Americo Rivera and Emma Maduro Rivera.
While he was in the Air Force, Louie learned to box. His hobbies were music and movies. He always wanted to DJ a party because his music collection included record albums, cassettes and CDs - there was something for everyone and, of course, his favorites were the old songs by the great musicians and singers of the past. His movie collection was also voluminous - anything from silent to black and white classics to horror. And, he loved to dance with my mom.
Louis was preceded in death by his loving wife Adeline and son Louis John Rivera.
He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Marilyn Munoz, of Raleigh, NC; his son Joseph Wilber Oliver, of Brooklyn, NY; and his brother Americo Rivera, of Florida.
Memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association, in memory of Louis.
