

Marjorie Mann Burke Honeycutt, 99, went to be with her Lord on June 16, 2025. She was born in Chatham County to Romie and Margaret Mann. After graduating from Pittsboro High School, she attended Louisburg College for one year before transferring to Rex Hospital School of Nursing. She graduated from Rex Hospital as an RN and worked at Rex for three years before marrying Paul Burke in 1950. They had two children and enjoyed 33 years of marriage before Paul died in 1982. At the age of 70, she married Gip Honeycutt, and they enjoyed 13 years of marriage before Gip passed away in 2009. Marjorie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed being a homemaker and loved being with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents; Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Paul C. Burke; her second husband, Elliott Gibson Honeycutt; great grandson, Mason Moore; stepson-in-law, Richard Stolp; and brother, Leon Mann.
She is survived by her two children: Nancy Garriss and her husband, Jim; Henry Burke and his wife, Denise Weeks; grandchildren, Heather Weeks (Ed), Kristi Fritter, Tiffany Warren (Don), Jamie Moore (Richard), Paula Burke; great grandchildren: Charlotte Weeks, Shepard Weeks, Ollie Fritter, Burke and Sadie Warren; sister, Sarah Lindsay, and many precious nieces and nephews. She is survived by her second husband’s family: stepchildren: Sherry Stolp, Elliott G. (Kent) Honeycutt (Dottie), and Erik Sean Honeycutt; step grandchildren: Richard Stolp (Claire), Deanna Hunt (Jacob), Elliott and Svetlana Honeycutt, Carter Lewis, Caitlyn Honeycutt, Noah Honeycutt; step great grandchild: Emma Stolp.
The family would like to thank her caregivers for their love, care, and compassion to Marjorie: Daisy, Zu, Rachel, Fatou, Nellie, Susan, Mercedes; Transitions Hospice, and the staff at the Cardinal.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Western Boulevard Presbyterian Church, 4900 Kaplan Drive, Raleigh, NC 27606, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025. A reception will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall.
