

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, F. Eugene Lilley in 2013 and her brother, Dayton Estes in 2014. She is survived by sons David E. of Raleigh and Douglas M. and wife Nancy of Wake Forest, granddaughters, Stephanie A. of Wake Forest and Abigail M. of Raleigh, sisters Frances Estes of Murphy, NC and Sandra Moravec and husband George of Estes Park, CO, and many nieces, nephews and special friends.
Born June 23, 1937 in Franklinton to Mr. & Mrs. Vallin Estes, and raised in Raleigh, she was an avid traveler, spent many years working in the library of Martin Middle School and earned her 1000 Hour pin volunteering at Rex Hospital. She also enjoyed spending time cheering on her beloved NC State Wolfpack football and basketball teams, going to games as often as she could.
The family will receive friends at Hayes-Barton Baptist Church on Saturday, October 11th, at 10 am, prior to the funeral service at 11 am. Internment will immediately follow the service at Raleigh Memorial Park.
