

May Lou Griffith Amigh, 91, died at home surrounded by family on January 26, 2020. She was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania on May 19,1928, daughter of the late Sylvester and Anna Griffith. Mary Lou was the oldest of six daughters.
Mary Lou graduated from Altoona Senior High in 1946. Following high school she worked for several compaines including the Bell telephone company where she was employed for ten years. During this time she met and fell in love with Paul Amigh. Paul and Mary Lou were married on November 18, 1950. She was a devoted wife and they enjoyed a wonderful life together for 61 years. They loved to travel and spend time with friends and family. Mary Lou was a wonderful mother to her son Kevin and her daughter Tamsen. She was an incredible cook and homemaker. She was especially skilled in painting and gardening. In later years Mary Lou was a founding member of the Mine Creek Club where she enjoyed many lasting friendships.
Mary Lou was known for her impeccable style and her joyful demeanor. She enjoyed hosting holidays and get togethers with family and friends. She was friendly with everyone she met and had a personality to light up a room. She would always do what ever she could to help anyone and make them feel appreciated. She was a caring and generous person. She especially enjoyed spending time with children and her five grandchildren and being involved in their lives.
She is survived by her son Kevin Amigh and wife Elizabeth ; her daughter Tamsen McLean and husband Randy; grandchildren Haylee McLean, Heather McLean, Jackson Amigh, Grace Amigh, and John Ross Amigh. She is also survived by sisters Jean Reighard and Betsy Cignetti.
A visitation will be held Saturday, February 1st, 2020 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home beginning at 11a.m. A memorial service will follow at noon at the funeral home chapel.
