Born on May 5, 1985, in Dayton, Ohio, Matt moved through life with quiet grace and a contemplative spirit. His calm demeanor was a steady presence to those around him—offering comfort not through noise, but through unwavering stillness and sincerity.
Matt held a profound connection to the written word. Journaling became his sanctuary, a place where he gave voice to thought and feeling with honesty and care. Books were his companions—windows into other worlds that deepened his understanding and stirred his curiosity. Beyond literature, Matt found meaning in visual beauty. As an avid art collector, he treasured each piece not only for its form but for the emotion it evoked.
From an early age, Matthew was drawn to the rhythm of the ice rink. He played hockey in his youth and carried that love with him throughout his life as an avid fan. Sports brought him a sense of connection and joy—whether he was cheering from the stands or catching a baseball game on television.
Matt’s presence will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Chelsea Fritz; his parents, Marc and Debra Fritz; his grandmother, Elaine Sterner; and his nieces, Cameron and Alex Yurco. Each shared in the quiet richness of his world.
May Matthew’s memory echo softly in the hearts of those who knew him—an enduring reminder of reflection, depth, and the simple grace of being present.
