Monique is survived by her cousin Helene of Lyon, France.
Monique was born in France and spent her childhood in Lyon. As a young adult, she was an acclaimed opera singer in Paris. She also performed as Juliette in the ballet, Romeo and Juliette in Paris. She married an American soldier and left her career in Paris to join him in the U.S.
Later Monique was a featured singer at the Velvet Cloak Inn in Raleigh singing romantic songs of the era. Monique was the loving owner of two dogs, Nona and Pepper, who returned her love. Monique leaves friends and neighbors who will miss her greatly.
She was a good, kind, and loving friend and neighbor and enriched the lives of all who met her.

A graveside service will be held Friday, May 17th at 11am at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Ave. Raleigh, NC.
