

Norma Jean Bogan was born September 1, 1955 to Nelson and Dorothy Bogan in Brooklyn, NY. Norma was full of life and embraced all that she met with love and a bright spirit. She lived the bulk of her adult life in Queens, NY before moving her family to Wake Forest, North Carolina.
Norma managed several restaurants throughout her career, including Burger King and Hardees, where she prided herself on good customer service and satisfaction. She retired in 2019 to focus on family. Unfortunately, after a battle with cancer, Norma succumbed to the illness on Sunday, August 8th, 2021.
She leaves behind her daughter, Nakima Bogan, and two sons Travis Bogan and Shaquan Fraser. Her grandchildren Tyler and Jaylen Bogan; Adeline and Sebastien Fraser. Her sister, Elizabeth Smith and two brothers, Larry and Murray Bogan. Her nieces and nephews: Adria Lamar, Tanya Bogan, Latoya Smith, Kisha Bogan, Larry Nelson Bogan, Cimone Bogan, Lamont and Latoya Bogan, Hayward Bogan, Shaun Watkins; and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters Jane Alice Lamar and Barbara Watkins; brother Nelson Bogan, Jr.; and her daughter Lakisha Monique Bogan.
A Service Celebrating Norma's Life will be held on Wednesday, August 18th at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home. The family asks that you do wear a mask while indoors for the service.
