Paul Irvin Davis, 82, died Saturday, March 29, 2025, at his residence in Alexandria, VA. He was born August 9, 1942, to the late Sarah Watson-Davis and Arthur Davis. He was the second of seven children.
He was raised in Halifax County, NC where he graduated from Brawley High School in 1962. Upon graduation, he relocated to New Jersey for several years, eventually residing in Alexandria, VA for over 40 years until his death. Paul worked for over 30 years at Washington Airport (now Reagan International) in the Maintenance Department. He also spent many years as a handyman, handling several tasks, from painting to electrical and plumbing.
Paul leaves to cherish his memories, his four nieces, Vernita L. Davis, of Garner, NC, Madeline Smith-Hodge, of Raleigh, NC, Cara Cameron, of Hampton, VA, Sharon Davis-Bryant, of Oak City, NC; four nephews, Percell L. Davis, of Hobgood, NC, Rondell Smith, of Raleigh, NC, Chris Davis, of Hampton, VA, Lenny Bess, of Oak City, NC; Brother-in-law, Ronald Smith, of Raleigh, NC; Sisters-in-law, Pecolia Davis of Hobgood, NC, Mary Davis-Everette, of Hampton, VA; Devoted friend, Elizabeth Minor, of Alexandria, VA; and a host of great nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his four brothers, Arthur, Elmo, Marshall, and Percy Davis; sisters, Carrie Smith and Magdalene Gibson.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 11:00am in the Chapel Mausoleum of Raleigh Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. Carolyn Medlin, where entombment will follow. Friends may come to view Paul's body, and visit with the family one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00am.
