Ronald Aaron Statt “Ron” of Raleigh, NC passed away on May 14, 2020 after a valiant and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Rochester, New York, graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology and obtained his Masters Degree from NC State University. Ron was a longtime employee of SAS Institute in Cary, NC where he last held the role of Senior Director of Research and Development.
Ron was proceeded in death by his sister, Jacquelyn Statt Emerson, grandparents Edward and Geraldine Krishan and Herbert and Mary Statt. He is survived by his devoted longtime partner Alida Clark, parents John and Valerie Statt of Holly Springs, NC, brother Christopher (Malou) Statt of Birmingham, Alabama, brother in law Michael Emerson of Niceville, Florida, nephews Henning Statt and Cole Emerson, nieces Brenner and Annecy Statt and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and very dear friends.
Ron was a cherished and loving partner, son, brother and friend. He will always be remembered for his incredible sense of humor, kindness, strength of character and compassion. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the family will be holding a private service. A public memorial will be held once the restrictions have lifted.
In honor of Ron’s generous and caring spirit, donations can be made in his memory to the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University or to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
