As a guest in the Jeffers' home in the late 1960's and early 1970's I was always impressed with the calm demeanor and generous nature of Mrs. Jeffers.  With four teenagers in the home and a full time job I don't know how she remained so composed.  She was a strong person that always put her family's wellbeing above all else.  I respected her for her loving heart and tenacity - a great combination of qualities.

Sorry to hear about Sarah's passing. I grew up beside the Jeffers, and Sarah was kind and patient with me and my siblings growing up. She will be missed.

So sorry about the loss of Sarah.  She loved God's children in a way that few ever do: In the 35 years that I have been a member of Milner Memorial Presbyterian Church she has never missed sending a birthday card to every member of the church (and even some non-members.)  You didn't have to know her to get a birthday card from her - you were her church family and so you received a birthday card from her!  What a wonderful mission this was. Sarah Jeffers was a very special woman.  When we were growing up I was thrilled to go with my cousins Susan and Billy to see the Jeffers family.  I always had a wonderful time, and loved Sarah and her children very much.  She will be missed by many, but not forgotten.  The family will be in our thoughts and prayers. I've had the pleasure of knowing Mrs. Jeffers for many, many years and always thought of her as one of the sweetest and strongest women I've known.  She was a very caring woman, and it was always apparent that she loved her family very much.  I think she even loved me, even though I took Phyllis away from her to be my roommate in our first apartment :)  Mrs. Jeffers will be missed by many but, no doubt, will continue to be a guardian angel to each and every one of her children and grandchildren, watching over them throughout their lives.  Richard and I extend our love and sympathy to all of those who loved, and were loved by, Mrs. Jeffers.
