Sharon Mary Desjardins

Sharon and her family relocated to Raleigh in 1986. Her career spanned numerous office positions in bookkeeping, the most recent with Mentor in the Accounting Department. She was an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Community, volunteering when needed and known for being the receptionist on Friday afternoons.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, John Desjardins; son: Christopher Desjardins and wife Rebecca, of Amsterdam; daughter: Nicole Desjardins, of Raleigh; granddaughter: Haley Drennen; sisters: Marilyn Haack and husband Leo, Lorraine Bolen, Bernadette Soucy and husband Giles, Carolann Buehler and husband Mel, and Valarie Brooks; numerous nieces and nephews and other family and friends.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and sisters: Eileen Wilhelm, Delores Johnson and Geraldine Soder.

Family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 PM at Mitchell Funeral Home (7209 Glenwood Avenue) and on Friday morning from 10-11 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (10000 Leesville Road). A Funeral Mass will be said at 11 AM on Friday, August 19, 2016 in the church sanctuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are preferred to the Catholic Parish Outreach (2013 Raleigh Blvd, Raleigh, NC 27604), where Sharon gave many hand-knit hats and scarves.
