Ms. Wilson was born on June 14, 1938 in Tiffin, Ohio. She spent several years in the Nursing field, from 1967-1970 she served as a Missionary in Nigeria, Africa. After serving in the WACs with the US Army, she received her Masters degree from the University of Arizona School of Nursing. She became a school nurse in Sacramento, CA, retiring at the age of 57. She enjoyed traveling, including being a part of 25 overseas missionary trips. Ms. Wilson was actively involved in several churches, attending Asbury Church since her relocation to Raleigh in August, 2022.
A Graveside service with Military Honors was held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 12:00pm in the Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, Spring Lake, NC, officiated by Rev. Dr. Jonathan Jeffries.
Sharon is survived by her brother, John Wilson, of Vermont; niece, Erika Wilson, of Georgia; and her best friend forever, Mary Miles, of Raleigh.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Sharon's name may be directed to Asbury Church.
