

Sue Meadows Lewis, 84, formerly of Raleigh, passed away peacefully at Hospice Home of High Point on Thursday, April 4, 2024 from complications due to Alzheimer's, from which she suffered for over 16 years.
She was born on April 18, 1939 in Onslow County, to the late Abram Newton Meadows and Ruth Morton Meadows. Sue grew up in Goldsboro, graduating from Goldsboro High School in 1957, after which she attended King's Business College in Raleigh. After college she settled in Raleigh where she lived and raised a family for over 25 years.
Sue worked most of her life as an Office Manager and Executive Assistant, first with David Allen Co. in Raleigh and later with Kelly Electric in Orlando, Florida.
After living in Orlando for 20 years, Sue and her husband Lawrence V. Lewis, surviving of the home, returned to Raleigh to be closer to their children and grandchildren, marrying in 2005. When Sue's disease started to advance, Larry moved them to Siler City in 2017, where he loved and cared for her until shortly before her death.
In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her sister, Pat Meadows LaCorte and her son-in-law, Harold Thomas Jarrell, Jr.
