Susan Lee Switzer Doerr

Sue was born on January 29th, 1958 to Bob and Monalee Switzer in Mt. Pleasant, MI. After graduating from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1976, she went on to study dental/oral surgery.

She worked for multiple dentists, and oral surgeons, making many lifelong friends along the way. Her colorful and creative personality drew many of her fellow workers to be close friends. She was as her husband put it, “a celebration looking for a place to happen”. She was always putting others before herself, and helped so many, any time she saw the opportunity. She had a zest for life, and had many interests.

They included photography, creative decorating, and making cupcakes for her friends, floating at the local pool, when the weather allowed. She was an active Christian, and her church played a very large part in her adult life and raising her children.

In 1974, she met her husband Kevin Doerr at the local ice cream hangout where she and a close friend worked, they were high school sweethearts and married in 1977. Sue and her husband had two children, Aaron Doerr (Christina Doerr) and Lauryn Doerr, along with grandson Ryker and adopted in spirit daughter Heaven Wadsworth.

Sue was predeceased by her father Robert James Switzer. She is survived by her husband, her mother Monalee Switzer, her son, daughters, and grandson.

Services will be private for the family on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 10:30 am. The Doerr family does invite all friends to attend the service via livestream within the link "join livestream."
