Born in Huntingdon Tennessee, Teresa (most often known as Gail) grew up in Huron, Ohio. She graduated from Huron High School in 1977. Shortly after high school she married Terry Fitzthum and they resided in Sandusky Ohio the majority of their 27 year marriage. They had 3 children and 1 grandchild together. Having many years in Human Resources in Ohio, Teresa moved to North Carolina in 2005. She continued to work in Human Resources until her health caused her to retire.
Teresa loved both the beach and the mountains and enjoyed family vacations. She enjoyed her friends and family and loved to laugh and make jokes. She had a laugh that you could never forget. She liked to go out for dinner with her children and watched every cartoon movie made with her granddaughter.
She is survived by her mother, Thelma Laverne Meredith of Huron, OH; children, Miranda Willis of Raleigh NC, Rachel Johnson (Anthony) of Raleigh NC; Joshua Fitzthum (Amanda) of Sandusky, OH; granddaughter, Adalyn Meredith Johnson; sisters, Jean Chambers (Michael) of Bluffton, SC, and Patricia Palmison (John) of Sandusky, OH.
Gail was preceded in death by her father, Travis Meredith, and brother Michael Meredith.
A funeral service was held on Thursday July 13, 2023, in the Chapel Mausoleum of Raleigh Memorial Park. Officiating was Rev. Larry Fife.
