Born on March 8, 1955, in Augusta, GA, she was the daughter of the late William George and Dorothy Phillips Spearman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Gayle Spearman.
A proud graduate of Millbrook High School in 1973, Wanda was a devoted and longtime member of Hillyer Memorial Christian Church, where she generously gave her time and talents, serving on numerous committees. She had a vibrant spirit, an open heart, and an unwavering generosity that touched all who knew her. Always willing to go above and beyond, she brought warmth and understanding to every situation.
She loved the sunshine, the water, her family, cheering on the Wolfpack, and of course, shopping.
As the proud owner of Precious Children’s Depot Daycare in Zebulon, NC, which she opened in 1987, she dedicated over 27 years to shaping young lives. Her belief in nurturing and guiding children was beautifully reflected in one of her favorite scriptures: "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it." — Proverbs 22:6
She deeply loved and appreciated her dedicated team at Precious Children’s Depot, who were considered family for their steadfast dedication and loyalty.
In her later years, she continued making connections while working as a receptionist at Leith Toyota before enjoying a well-earned retirement.
She is survived by her daughter, Kasey and fiancé, Josh Jamieson; her son, Kyle and his wife, Susan; and her two granddaughters, Savannah and Tanner, who brought immense joy to her life. She also leaves behind Kasey and Kyle's father, Gray Stephens; her extended family, including the Stantons, Edwards, and Castleberrys, along with numerous cousins and dear friends.
A devoted animal lover, she adored her dogs MacGregor, Zacheus, Jenny, and Cooper, as well as her cats, Belle and Stella.
The family received visitors Friday, March 21, 2025 from 11:30am - 1:00pm at Hillyer Memorial Christian Church in Raleigh. A Memorial Service was held at 1:00pm. where friends and family gathered to honor and remember her beautiful life.
Wanda’s kindness, strength, and flair-loving spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
