Berta L Hampton

Berta was born in Washington, DC on May 21, 1936, to parents Vern and Laurel (Myers) Farson. She enjoyed a long career in radiology and retired as a manager after 20+ years of service at San Bernardino Community Hospital. She moved to Ohio in 2020 to live with her daughter Shelly.

She attended Portage Community Chapel in Ravenna. Berta had enjoyed playing bingo and bowling in leagues. She had fun going on casino trips and loved fishing and spending time on her daughter’s pontoon boat at West Branch State Park. She especially enjoyed socializing and spending time with family.

Berta is survived by her daughters Julie (Randy) Ward and Shelly (Leon) Ferris. Left also to cherish her memory are her grandchildren Brittany Ward, Brandy Ward, Austin Ferris, great-grandson Hudson Ward and many loving friends.

Berta was preceded in death by her parents and her husband David Hampton.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30pm on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the Portage Community Chapel, 6490 St. Rt. 14, Ravenna, Ohio 44266.
