Carl Willard Shamblin, age 81 of Deerfield, passed away June 19, 2024, in Birmingham, Alabama. He was born August 20, 1942, in Putnam County, West Virginia, to parents Mattie Pearl (Kelly) and Clarence H. Shamblin, Sr.
Carl worked for Bedford Wire and Steel for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed gardening and farming. Most of all, he cherished his time spent with his grandkids and family.
Carl is survived by his beloved wife Linda (Archer) Shamblin, who he married September 30, 1967. He also leaves behind his children: Charlotte Shamblin of Deerfield, Tim (Wendy) Shamblin of New Castle, PA, Kenny (Sharil) Shamblin of Edinburg, his grandchildren: Nick, Jeremy, Kendall, Korena, Amber (Matt), Kristen (Chris), and Josh, as well as his 11 great-grandchildren, sister Libby Lance of Alabama, brother Mike (Kathy) Shamblin of West Virginia, sister-in-law Josie Shamblin of West Virginia, brother-in-law Elmer Goetz of Alabama, along with generations of nieces and nephews.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents and his 11 siblings.
Friends and family will be received Wednesday, June 26, 2024, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Deerfield Cemetery.
