Charity Ann Cartwright

Mrs. Cartwright was born in Ravenna, Ohio on October 18, 1956 to the late Howard (Slim) and Rowena (Little) Stafford.

She graduated from Rootstown High School and spent most of her life in Portage County. She and her husband Larry lived in Texas at one time and drove cross country truck together. In Texas she also worked as a cashier at a local grocery store. When they returned to Ohio she worked as a cashier and manager of a local Dairy Mart Store. Charity was a member of the Ravenna VFW post 1055 and active in the Ravenna American Legion post 331where she was serving as president of the Women's Auxiliary at the time of her death. She had a heart of gold and was willing to help others. She also enjoyed swimming and was an avid reader and her husband's best friend.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Larry. Sisters: Faith (Arnold) Cary, Westfield, PA. Anita (Samuel) Goebel, Kankakee, IL, Mary Bokowski, Lake Milton, OH, and brothers: Thomas (Diana) Stafford, Memphis, TN, Bill (Marcy) Stafford, Barberton, OH, Paul (Cindy) Stafford, Ravenna, OH.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the American Legion Hall, 109 Elm Street, Ravenna, OH with Reverend Sam Goebel officiating.
