

She was born June 18, 1935, in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, to parents Edward Benjaman and Helen Anna (Rach) Whitehouse. Dorothy was a former member of St. Patrick’s Parish and retired from Kent State University as a switchboard operator. She loved to travel, going in a RV across the United States and going on many cruises as well.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Jenny (Joel) Barnes, Frank Gray, Cindy Marcum, Beverly (Ken) Polack, and Carolyn Gray, her siblings: Jack (Sandy) Whitehouse, Nancy Walent, and Marian (Robert) Barna, along with her grandchildren: Frankie, Darla, Andrew “Chip”, Heather, Melony, Becky, Kenneth Jr, and Jason, as well as her 8 great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Frank and Edward Whitehouse, her brother-in-law Robert Walent, and her grandson Noah.
Her wishes for cremation are being honored and friends and family will be received Tuesday, May 18, 2021, from 10:30 am until the memorial service at 11:00 am at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, OH 44266. Inurnment will follow at Homeland Cemetery in Rootstown.
