

He was born July 14, 1939, in Monaca, Pennsylvania, to parents George Edward and Anna Mae (Sippel) Godfrey. Edward proudly served his country as a member of the US Army, and later retired from the Army Corps of Engineers as a maintenance supervisor.
Ed was a member of the Edinburg United Church. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and scuba diving. He was also a “Jack-Of-All-Trades”. Ed was a talented woodworker, and was always making gifts for family members. He even built his own house. He also enjoyed cars and built his own sports car.
On August 16, 1958, Ed married the love of his life, Rhoda Morgan. In fact they have been together since the age of 13. Surviving also are their children: Cynthia (Rick) Stuart of Edinburg, Ruth (Gary) Kuntz of Edinburg, Todd (Robyn) Godfrey of Atwater, and Scott Godfrey of Charleston, South Carolina. His memory will also be cherished by grandchildren: Erin (Adam) Morris, Emily (Paul) Grissom, Jacob (Kayla) Stuart, Benjamin (Crystal) Kuntz, Angela (Jeremy) DeWitt, Brandi (Jared) Smith, Leeann (Ronald) Currey, and great-grandchildren: Catey, Skylar, Noah, Carson, Chase, Allison, and Jaxson; as well as his sister Anna Mae Boren, brother William (Alyce) Godfrey, along with many loving nieces and nephews.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, his brother George Godfrey, sister Patty Mike, granddaughter Sara Godfrey, and great-grandson Cole Kuntz.
Friends will be received Tuesday, June 21, 2016, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Edinburg Cemetery.
