Elizabeth A. "Betty" Richie

She was born July 1, 1921, in Akron, Ohio, to Louis and Jeannette (nee Dawson) Bair. Sixty-five years ago on September 28th, she married the love of her life, Miles Donald Richie. Betty was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother. She was an active member of the Order of Eastern Star – Ravenna Chapter 46. Betty was also a member of the Randolph United Methodist Church and the Ladies Cemetery Association of Randolph.

She is survived by her children Marcia Barnes and her husband Bob of Hudson and Miles Richie II of Aurora; grandchildren: Joe (Angie) Tarney, Wendy (Michael) Carney, Jon (Melissa) Barnes, Kitti (Tony) Barnes, and Cindy Barnes; great-grandchildren: Dylan, Gage, Alivia, Crissy, Leigh, Alaynah, and Hannah; great-great-grandchildren: Shane, Alexis, and Rylie; as well as many loving extended family members including her nephews George, Tom, and John Harris.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Miles Donald Richie, her parents Louis and Jeannette Bair, her daughter-in-law Nona Richie, brothers Richard and Louis Bair; and her sister Lois Harris.

Friends will be received Sunday, October 2, 2011, from 2:00 – 5:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, where funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Karen Drotar on Monday at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Randolph. Eastern Star services will be held at 5:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
