Dear Kathleen, Jeff and Jon,
My first impression of your mom was how warm and welcoming she was.  Her smile made you feel like you were her best friend.  Ellen had such a wonderful capacity to make everyone who visited her home feel like they wanted to stay and chat and enjoy her company.  Even when I was there to care for her for a brief time she was always worrying that I was working too hard or doing too much for her.  My greatest joy was sitting and talking to Ellen.  She would share many wonderful stories about her family especially her grandson Jon.  She would wait for Jeff to arrive and make her laugh.  We shared many recipes and loved to sit and share a meal with me.  If she was in need of anything she would say "Kathleen will get it for me". She loved her family unconditionally.  She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched, including mine.  Thank you for sharing her.  She was such a special lady.

Deepest Sympathies to the Hamiliton Family, I am smiling now remembering the time when Miss Hamilton's 2nd grade class got to walk to her "Mom's" house to watch the moon landing. Dear Kathleen and Bob, Your mother was a beautiful lady in all ways. Her love of music and history endeared her to many. She gave me piano lessons,which I still treasure as valuable. She taught my sister, Betty (Biltz) King to play the piano and Betty started playing the organ at St. Peter of the ?Fields Church when she was 10 years old, until she married, and then came back to play again for many years. There were five girls in my class who took lessons from her, walking to her home after school. What a treat to have known her. Just a few years ago, I ran out of gas by her house; she insisted I take gas from her can in the garage, and would NOT let me pay for it.What a wonderful person! I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your mom.  She certainly was a special lady. I remember fondly my weekly visits to help her with house cleaning chores when I was in high school.  Before I could begin my duties.. she made sure that I had some time to relax after my school day and of course had a warm after-school snack. I am not convinced that she ever needed my help but I always enjoyed our visits.
She was quick with encouraging words and a kind smile that would light up a room.

As I went off to college, married and had my own family,  she always managed to keep up with my life. It seemed that whenever I was having a rough time....a letter or card would come from Mrs. H.

My son still sleeps with Teddy Bear that she made for me as I went off to college.  Her kindness is still present in the life of my family.

We have lost a very special member of our community.  I am certain however that she has been guided safely into heaven where she can reunite with her loved ones who have passed before.  I am so excited that she can now be with Mr. Hamilton again.

My sincerest sympathy to you and your family at the passing of your mother.  She was a lovely lady and was a pillar of the community.  With her welcoming smile, she lite up a room wherever she was.  I am sure that all of you have many memories to share..  How lucky you were to have your mother for so many years.

Our sincere sympathy to all of you at Mrs. Hamiliton's passing. Whatever the circumstances, it is never easy to lose Mom. Ellen began volunteering at Akron's Ronald McDonald House when I served as Board President. The volunteers are the core of the success that the Akron RMH has enjoyed and she was one of the most dedicated volunteers ever. She was immediately loved by everyone. On the very few times she couldn't make it to Akron, she always called in to report off and apologize profusely. Her scheduled weekly shift was Thursday, and her dedication was such that we knew of times that she scheduled her own Thanksgiving with her family so she could volunteer at the RMH. We can be certain that she is already in a place where she can renew acquaintances with some of the little people whose illness or pain was somewhat eased by her involvement, but she will be sadly missed by all who knew her here on earth.

Kathy and Bob: I am so sorry I cannot be with you as you celebrate the life of your mother. She was a very special lady. She exhibited such warmth, grace, and love to everyone she came in contact with. That included me as a child. My sisters and I spent many hours at your mother's home playing with you and your cousins. We enjoyed being in her presence. She will be definitely missed by many.
