She was born 2 August 1938 in Wheeling, West Virginia. She moved to Shalersville, Ohio in her teen years, were she met and married High School Sweetheart George Richardson.
Esther graduated from Crestwood High School. In addition to raising five children, she volunteered at church, and with meals on wheels. She enjoyed many hobbies to include reading, singing, playing piano, crocheting, embroidery, and watching movies.
Esther had a love for animals from an early age and cared for numerous pets to include dogs, cats, fish, a guinea pig and feed the birds during winter. She also cared for local feral cats and with assistance from her neighbors, she was able to "cat whisper" and capture the feral cats to be spayed.
Esther loved her family and friends, and was loved in return. The highlight of her days was being with and enjoying family and friends. She was known as Hiram's Unofficial Mayor. Esther treated everyone with kindness and love, accepted everyone for themselves and strived to be a peacemaker. She encouraged us to spend time together and love each other well, as time is short and precious.
Esther is survived by her children, Steven L. Richardson (Bonnie), Vickie L. (Skupski) Richardson (Michael), Christopher L. Richardson (Mary), Gregory A. Richardson (Carol) and Casey J. Richardson, 11 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren.
Esther was preceded in death by her Granddaughter Meghan Hope Halstead and Grandson Jeremy Seth Halstead.
Private family services will be held at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Shalersville, Ohio.
