Eunice J Foster

Eunice was born on April 23, 1934, in Barberton, Ohio to parents John and Anne (Kuzmik) Slimak. She had been a resident of Rootstown for over 50 years, moving there when she was in high school. Eunice fondly recounted that as a young woman, she loved helping out on her parent’s farm, raising grapes and strawberries for Smuckers. Eunice graduated from Rootstown High School then went on to enjoy a long career as an executive secretary and also responsible for executive travel at Ametek/Lamb Electric, retiring after 44 years of service.

Eunice loved traveling, gardening, crossword puzzles and reading. She enjoyed her association and friends she met as a member of the Cuyahoga Falls travel club and the Portage County literacy board. She was faith driven and a long-time member of St. Peter of the Fields church.

Eunice is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Rebecca and Gary Gauer and her beloved grandchildren Richard, Lindsey (Andy) Metzger, Ashley and great-grandchildren Conor and Maisie Metzger.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard E. Foster, and her brothers Raymond, John, Ronald and Michael.

Family will receive friends at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St, Ravenna, on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 5-7pm. Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Rev. Kevin Bertleff, will be held at St. Peter of the Fields Catholic Church, 3487 Old Forge Rd, Rootstown, Oh. 44272 at 10am on Wednesday, January 14th. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Park.
