Heather was born in Ravenna, Ohio to parents Bernard and Jane “Jean” (Ferguson) Speck on July 16, 1950. Being very skilled, creative and driven, over the years Heather enjoyed working various jobs to allow her the opportunity to be with her children and family including being a beautician early on and operating a floral business from her home. Most recently she was a clerical coordinator for Residence Services at Kent State University where she enjoyed interacting with students and helping mentor them to help shape their lives. Heather liked traveling, taking casino trips and her bible study group she attended with her best friend Terry. She loved to entertain, especially at the holidays. Most of all she loved her family, going to their games and activities as well as spending time with her grandchildren. Nothing made her happier than being able to provide and care for her family through cooking, gifts and the numerous little gestures that showed her loved ones she cared and was thinking about them.
Heather is survived by her husband of 45 years, Fred Fabry and their children: Brent (Jessica) Fabry and Paul (Candice) Fabry. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Cameron Fabry, Brandon Craig, Berkley Fabry, Chelsea Fabry and her brothers Ricky Speck and Jay (Marlene) Speck. Left also to cherish her memory are loving nieces and nephews: Randy Speck, Hannah Speck, Sean (Tricia) Speck, Kyle Speck and her special friends: Pam Speck and Terry Garlesky.
Heather was preceded in death by her parents and her brother George Speck (Vietnam War).
