She was born on February 7, 1939, in West Virginia, the daughter of Ralph Kittle and Reva A. Kittle Licchi. Marge grew up in Weston, West Virginia, and later in Akron, Ohio. After completing cosmetology school, she built a long and dedicated career as a beautician, a profession she loved and practiced for most of her life.
She married John J. Kropac Jr. on August 10, 1957, and they shared their lives together until his passing in 2008. They were blessed with three daughters: Renee, Shelly, and Connie.
Marge lived in Florida for many years before moving to Kent in February 2024 to be closer to her family. She embraced this new chapter with the same strength and determination that defined her entire life. Marge was a warrior—strong‑willed, determined, and persistent in everything she faced. She loved golf, dancing, playing mahjong, frequenting casinos and spending time with friends. Above all, she especially cherished time with her family. Her resilience, warmth, and spirited nature touched everyone who knew her.
Marge was preceded in death by her husband, John Kropac, and her grandson, Adam Hamilton.
She is survived by her partner of more than ten years, Kevin Kelly of Lady Lake, Florida, and her sister‑in‑law, Charlene Shackleford of Casselberry, Florida. She is also survived by her daughters Renee (Rodger) Collins of Frisco, Texas, Shelly Ashton of Rootstown, Ohio, and Connie (Scott) Hamilton of Kent, Ohio. Left also to cherish her memory are her grandchildren Amy Ashton, Breiann (Walter) Cozzi, Brandon Hamilton (Christa McBride), Adam Collins, Derek (Felicity) Collins, Shawney Hamilton, and Taya (Danny) Miller.
She was blessed with great‑grandchildren David, Emmy, Jameson, Mason, Autumn, Harper, Nolan, and Jonathan, each of whom brought her tremendous joy.
A private service will be held for family only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marge’s honor to the Portage County Animal Protective League or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Marge leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and perseverance. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
