James was born in Streetsboro, Ohio on October 2, 1942 to parents William G. and Martha L. (Schreckengost) Fox.
Most of his life James worked his farm in Randolph growing potatoes, apples and later added dairy cattle. During that time, he also worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber for 13 years and later drove a coal bucket truck, retiring from Schondrick Trucking. In earlier years, he enjoyed fishing and camping, spending time with his family and after retiring, sitting on his front porch with his dog, Gracie.
James is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patricia (Steele) Fox and his children: Timothy (Julie) Fox, Leann Fox, James (Belinda) Fox Jr., Daniel (Luanne) Fox, Dennis (Melinda) Fox and Ann Fox. He also leaves his beloved 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and his beloved dog Gracie. He also leaves his sister Connie Myers and his in-laws Pete and Carol Steele.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Sara Fox, brother Ronnie Schreckengost and brother-in-law Jerome Myers.
Graveside funeral service, officiated by Rev. Dr. Ken Pierce, will be held at 10am on Saturday, September 23, 2023 in the chapel at Hillside Cemetery in Randolph, Oh.
