Janet Marlene (Miller) Fitzsimmons 86, of Paris Township passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, January 28, 2023.

She was born on November 7, 1936 in Ravenna to the late Sherman and Alma (Folk) Miller. Janet graduated from Rootstown High School in 1954.

Janet met the love of her life, her high school sweetheart, John Fitzsimmons and they married on November 24, 1956. They were together until his death on April 3, 2003.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Jeff Fitzsimmons, sister Gladys Langguth, and brother Paul Miller.

Survivors include brother Dale (Viola) Miller of Rootstown, brother in law Robert Fitzsimmons of Warren, son John (Jill) Fitzsimmons of Hartville, daughter Cindy (David) Fesemyer of Paris, grandchildren Tom Fitzsimmons, Jacob Fitzsimmons, Jonathan Fesemyer, Jessica (Anthony) Lerch, Jenna Fesemyer and two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Janet was a homemaker that enjoyed caring for her family and friends. She had a quick sense of humor and could light up a room with her smile. She taught us how to love and most importantly how to be loved.

Janet was a member of Wayland Community Church and Eastern Stars Palmy Chapter #114 of Deerfield. Both organizations held a special place in her heart.

Friends and family will be received Tuesday, January 31, 2023, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM with an Order of Eastern Star Service starting at 6:00 PM followed by a funeral service officiated by Pastor Thomas Holbrook at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Private interment will take place at Hawley Cemetery in Paris Township.
