Granie I love u so much and I miss you so much and you also have a new great grand daughter named Lydia Lois Sandra Rexroad she saw pap last week and I only wish she could have grow. Up knowing you I love you always

Last night I had the privilege of saying "goodbye" to one of my favorite patients in her home. She was this 77 yea old hillbilly granny who had spent most of those 77 years smoking like a chimney and having a good time. We used to joke that she had nine lives because there were more than a few ways that she should have died year ago, including a pneumothorax  caused by a broken rib she sustained in a 4-wheeler accident a couple years ago. (Yes, a 74 year old on a 4-wheeler, that was the kind of woman she was.)
She used to like pretend to be a crotchety old lady, but I knew that she had a tender heart inside. Towards the end of her life, she put her trust in Jesus and it transformed her view of her inevitable death. One thing that I love about the grace of God is that it isn't about what kind of life that we've lived or weather or not we are deserving of it. None of us are- but God's grace. love and forgiveness are available to all who would desire it. 
At the end of our visits, she would put a shaky are around me and kiss my forehead, like I was a favored grandchild of some sort. Last night, as I sat by her bed dying "goodbye for now" to her, I wept big tears- that I hadn't even wept at my beloved grandfather's funeral last week. This morning, I got a call saying that she had passed away peacefully at 6 AM.
I don't quite know if how appropriate professionally it is to love your patients, but I do love some f mine. I couldn't it a privilege to play the role I get to play in their lives- its the very best part about my job. Sometimes that means shedding a tear or two but I think that I am ok with that. I'll miss you, Mrs. R.  until we meet again one day.

My deepest heartfelt sympathy to to my 1/2 brothers & sister and the rest of the family.  My prayer will be for the lord to hold each of you close & carry some of your grief. I know the emptiness & helplessness you are going thru & just remember you are not alone My love & deepest condolences to all of you. Her suffering is over & you all will keep her alive in your memories.

grandma will be dearly missed and will always be loved in our hearts from her children to grandchildren and great grandchildren and other family members her heart was wide and loved all of them greatfully. you have tought us the was to live right in WV and we will nevr forget it. from learning what those dirt patches was ment for and where our family started. grandma we love you and miss you.

Mom, you accepted me and my children into the family without a second thought and I will always love you for that. You were more than a mother-in-law to me - you were my friend. I will miss your laughing and joking the most. Whenever I go fishing in the future, I will be sure to think of you and remember those times we shared at the lake. Love you always.

To the whole Rexroad family, my deepest sympathies, during this time. I will remember grannie to be the most upbeat and giving person.  She will be deeply missed. Just remember she will be in ur hearts forever.

Grannie we all love you and I know me atleast I'm still eating for you to call me asking if I am coming over today or just talking about the deer that were in the yard the night before you and pap were like my parents and truly did mean everything to me I tried to spend as much time with you as possible and do everything I can for you and pap everyte there is something I could do for you I tried my best to do it I have so many memories of you and 99.9% is all great memories and I realy appreciate everything you have done for me and taught me everything thing from shooting to hunting and cooking and always doing what you can for someone even if you don't know them but I love you so much and miss you and will see you some day in the future so save me a fishing spot I love you you will never be forgotten

You will always live in our hearts and prayers. Mom, I miss you but yet I'm  lost in all the arrangements and issues at hand.  I have confort knowing I/ We were there for you when you were ill and finally moved on to be with loved ones that have gone on before you. My heart cries but its important that I stay strong for Dad, Ron, Donald your grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dad reminded me today that some things only heal with time. So with time, we will all become stronger as our memories of the joy, love and laughter you put into each day that you were here with us endures.

She will be missed by all. I remember when mom and Lois worked together at the nursing home way back when. Tbats when I mentioned her son Jay she was happy he found someone to care for and Yes I Did care and loved him. She was always there for us all my. She rest in peace.

Love and miss you mom . went to store the other day didn't seem the same without you there riding in cart trying to keep up with you. thank you for all you have done and taught me. Love your son Ron.

Aunt Lois was always smiling or laughing about something.  You never knew what she was up to!  I sure will miss her giving me a hard time. We would talk on the phone and you would think we couldn't stand each other but we really loved each other. I appreciated her since of humor and zest for life.  I pray for all the family during their loss. May God bless.
