Margaret Phile, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the age of 90 with family by her side.
Margaret was born on August 27, 1934, to Mike and Mary Stehney Pelo. She was the second youngest of 13 siblings and proudly outlived them all. On August 15, 1959, she married the love of her life, Everett G. Phile. They shared many years together until his passing in June of 1986.
A devoted homemaker, Margaret dedicated her life to caring for her family and creating a warm, welcoming home. She was also employed by the Packard Electric Division of General Motors Corporation in Lordstown, Ohio.
Margaret was a self-taught seamstress with an eye for style, known for designing and wearing her own beautiful custom-made clothing. A longtime member of Edinburg United Church, Margaret’s life was rooted in faith, love, and service to others. She was also well known for her love of making apple pies for the community, which she shared generously with friends, neighbors, and those in need.
Margaret is survived by her three daughters: – Connie Phile Jobe and her husband George; of Randolph, OH, their daughter Charlotte Wadsworth, her husband Shawn, and their daughter Taylor Wadsworth, of Randolph, OH.
– Debbie Phile Rupert and her husband David of Charleston, SC; their son Addison Rupert and his son Sawyer Rupert of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and their daughter Merritt Caldwell Rupert of Charlotte, NC.
– Barbie Phile Dorsey of Wilmington, NC; her daughter Gabrielle Dorsey Holste and husband Peyton of Richmond, VA; and her son Evan Dorsey of Charlotte, NC.
Margaret was also predeceased by her daughter, Mary Rosemary Phile, who was born and passed away on November 8, 1966.
Margaret was blessed with five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one on the way, each of whom brought her immense pride and joy. In her last days, Margaret enjoyed playing cards with her great-granddaughter and her care givers. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins with whom she remained closely connected throughout her life.
In September 2024, Margaret was honored at a joyful celebration of her 90th birthday, surrounded by family and friends who cherished her presence and the life she so fully lived.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Home Instead and their dedicated caregivers, as well as Summa Hospice, for the compassionate and loving care provided to Margaret in her final days.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at Grandview Memorial Park, located at 5400 Lakewood Road, Ravenna, Ohio 44266.

Her legacy of love, hard work, creativity, and quiet strength lives on in all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
