She was born December 15, 1925, in Jamestown, New York, to parents Carmelo and Lucia (Palermo) Chimera. Margaret graduated from the University of Akron with a Bachelor’s Degree in French and later from Case Western Reserve University with a Master’s Degree in Library Science. She worked as a librarian with the Akron Summit County Public Library System for over 30 years, retiring as head librarian from the East Branch Library.
Margaret was preceded in death by her first husband Carl Mancz whom she married in 1951. Margaret was also preceded in death by her infant son Richard and her daughter Lucille Schubert. She is survived by her husband Bob Pugh whom she married in 1981, and daughters: Elizabeth Mancz, Marcia (Paul) Skidmore, and MaryKay (Scott) Dotterer; her grandchildren: Joe, Kate, David, Tony, Andy (Keely), Mark, Maddie, and Carmen, and her great-grandchildren: Jonas, Vaughn, and Lulu.
Friends and family will be received Tuesday, June 1, 2021, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Phil Hoverstock on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at 10:00 AM at the Randolph United Methodist Church, 4078 Waterloo Rd. in Randolph.
