Margie Mae Lambert, age 105 of Freedom Township, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at her home. She was born December 8, 1912, in Valley Head, West Virginia, to parents Willie and Mary (Daft) Hannah.
Margie loved the Lord with all her heart and is now cradled in his arms. She was an active member of Portage Community Chapel for many years, serving in several different capacities throughout the decades. Most of all, she loved singing in the choir. She truly was a devout Christian.
Margie was a kind soul and was loved by all. She was affectionately known as “Grandma” to her family and friends, and served as a role model to many. She enjoyed driving, crocheting, gardening and yard work, as well as being devoted to her family. Margie was blessed with four generations of family, which she loved dearly.
She is survived by her children: Billy (Judy) Lambert, Thelma Jean (Bernard) Duvall, Shirley Kaiser, and Mary Lou (George “Chub”) Marco; her grandchildren: Nancy, Jonathon, Melissa, Jed, Joey, Billie Ann, Julie, Melanie, Mark, Kim, Jenny, Scott, and Shawn; as well as her 24 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Margie was married to her husband Herman Lambert for 50 years. He passed away in 1982. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law Joe Kaiser, her granddaughter Cathy Zepp, her sister Blanche Howell, and her brothers Kenneth, Arthur, and Robert Hannah.
Friends and family will be received Saturday, October 20, 2018, from 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM with a funeral service beginning at 12:00 PM at the Portage Community Chapel, 6490 State Route 14, Ravenna. Interment will follow at Drakesburg Cemetery in Freedom Township.
