Marlene was born in Morgantown, W.VA. on August 15, 1944 to parents John “Corky” and Georgia (Straight) Milush. She was a 1963 graduate of Morgantown High School and was retired after a long career as a nurse’s aide and private duty caregiver.
Marlene’s greatest love was her family and she enjoyed every moment and holiday spent together. Caring for the elderly was her passion and she spent the majority of the past 50 years caring for many of Portage County’s residents, both privately and at the County Home. She enjoyed her McDonald’s coffee (4 cream, 4 Splenda), country music, dancing, Yahtzee, and her former camping days at both Ridge Ranch and Green Acres campgrounds. Titled “Favorite Aunt” by her nieces & nephews, she dearly loved each and every one.
Marlene is survived by her son Jimmi Holcomb, her daughter Renee Holcomb and her grandsons Cameron (Danni) MacDonald and Ryan MacDonald. She also leaves her great-granddaughter Arielle MacDonald.
Left to cherish her memory are brothers John “Bub” (Shirley) Milush and Brad (Bonnie) Milush. Marlene’s in-law’s Carol Bradley, Ruth (Junior) Owens, Gary (Bonnie) Holcomb and many nieces and nephews also survive her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Holcomb, her sister Jean Jennings; in-laws Donald and Pauline Holcomb and her brothers Donald, Robert and Michael Holcomb.
Friends will be received at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St, Ravenna, on Saturday, May 4, from 10am until the 11am funeral service. Interment at Windham Cemetery will follow.
