Michael H Shomo

Born on April 26, 1958, in Ravenna, Ohio, Michael was the son of Paul L. and Elizabeth Ann (Aughenbaugh) Shomo. A proud graduate of the University of Akron, he dedicated his career to social work, an extension of his deeply compassionate nature and lifelong commitment to helping others. Michael was known for his generous heart, boundless kindness, and genuine interest in people. He never met a stranger, only friends he hadn’t yet made. His warm spirit, quick smile, and vivid imagination brought joy to those around him, and his presence had a way of making others feel seen, heard, and valued. He is lovingly remembered by his siblings, Marc Shomo, Christyna Shomo, Cynthia Shomo-Gatto, and Paula Shomo, as well as his many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David Shomo, and will be laid to rest through cremation. A celebration of life will be organized by Mickey Moore of Clearfield, PA at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may honor Michael’s memory by making a donation to a charity of their choice, a fitting tribute to a man who gave so much of himself to others.
