

Robert E. “Bob” Jarrett joined the Lord on May 17, 2025. He was born in Massillon, OH, on October 6, 1940, to the late John J. Jarrett and Laura A. (Latham) Jarrett. He graduated from Jackson Memorial High School in 1959. After high school, he joined the U.S.A.F. where he was a teletype and crypto repairman. After his military service, he attended Akron University majoring in Marketing. He established his own business as a locksmith. Bob worked as a locksmith for 28 years and, upon retirement, sold his business. He was a member of Edinburg United Church.
Although not really enjoying history in school, he actively enjoyed it in his later years by researching his family tree. For many years, he and his wife enjoyed riding their Goldwing motorcycle. He traveled in 49 of the 50 states. Bob was active in the Rootstown community as a soccer coach, zoning inspector, and volunteer firefighter.
He married his wife, Cynthia (Walburn) Jarrett on July 19, 1969. They shared 55 years together. He is survived by his three sons—Jeffrey (Tammy) Jarrett and twins Jason and Jeremy (Jessica) Jarrett. He is also survived by his brother William “Bill” Jarrett and grandchildren Jordan, Jonathan, Jacob, Jasmine, Jewel, Joey, Javin, Jaxon, and Teagan. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home at 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, OH, led by Pastor Susan Lehosky. The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home from 9:30 – 11:00 AM with the service beginning at 11:00 AM. A luncheon will follow in the Fellowship Room of the Edinburg United Church at 4081 Rock Spring Rd., Ravenna, OH. Interment with military honors will be on Monday, June 2, 2025, at 2:45 PM at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville.
