He was born January 14, 1946, in St. Clairsville, Ohio, to parents Ivan and Doris (Bryant) Gordon. Roger graduated from Southeast High School in 1965 and then proudly served his country as a veteran of the US Army. He owned and operated R.L. Gordon Inc., an excavating and concrete company. In his spare time, Roger enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing cards with his friends.
Roger is survived by his children: Sonya (Dr. John) Reith and Fred (Lauri) Stone, his grandchildren: Madison Comes and Rollin Stone, as well as his sisters: Kay Pyles, Charlotte Cross, Dianne (Bob) Burgess, Julie Gray, and Martha (Jeff) Reynolds, along with many loving nieces and nephews, and special companion, Peanut.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Patrick Gordon, brother-in-law Kenneth Pyles and niece Laura Pyles.
His wishes for cremation are being honored. Friends and family will be received Friday, July 9, 2021, from 5:00 – 6:00 PM, with a memorial service officiated by Pastor Bob Burgess following at 6:00 PM at the New Testament Baptist Church, 3583 State Route 59, Ravenna, OH 44266.
