

She was born February 26, 1927, in Suffield, Ohio, to parents Charles Stewart and Julia Diane (Ingalls) Diamond. Rose was a longtime member of St. Peter of the Fields Parish, and belonged to their Altar Rosary Society and the Infant of Prague. She was a talented seamstress and worked for So-Fro Fabrics before retiring from the laundry department at Robinson Memorial Hospital. In addition to sewing, Rose also enjoyed crafts and baking. She was especially known for her pies.
Rose is survived by her children: John “Jack” (Faye) Duffy of Rootstown, Cecile (Dale) Ferguson of Canton, and Laura (Dayton) Clark of Rootstown, and her sister Carol Boden of Warsaw, Indiana. Her memory will also be cherished by her 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John Duffy, her children: Kathy O’Neal, Michael and Jim Duffy, sister Dorothy Lusk, brother Harry “Bud” Diamond, and one grandson and one great-grandson.
Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received Saturday, January 9, 2016, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at St. Peter of the Fields Church, 3487 Old Forge Rd., Rootstown, with Reverend Pat Manning celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Final resting place will be St. Peter of the Fields Cemetery.
