Thomas E. Gort

He was born July 21, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, a son of the late Eugene A. and Rosemary (Bartel) Gort. Tom worked as a computer programmer primarily with Alltel. His work enabled him to travel around the United States and worldwide. On one of these trips in Ireland, he met his wife Anne, whom he married on November 24, 1991. Tom was also an avid Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed golfing.

He is survived by his wife Anne K. Gort, his children: Eric (Sharon) Gort and Adam (Dawn) Gort, step-daughter: Rebecca Martin, siblings: Gregory Gort, Mary Ellen (Len) Gajeske, Judi (Mike) Facenda, Pattie (Dennis) Martini, Frank (Mimi) Gort, and sister-in-law: Millie Gort. Tom’s memory will also be cherished by his grandchildren: Sean, Colin, Alexis, and Miranda Gort, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sons Sean Gort and Brendon Gort, and brother Eugene “Mouse” Gort.

Cremation has taken place, and friends will be received Friday, November 9, 2012, from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM memorial service officiated by Reverend Laura Lyn Lute at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna.
