He was born August 27, 1936, in Freeport, Ohio, to parents Harry and Beatrice (Hamilton) Heldreth. He was affectionately known as Dwain to his family and friends.
Dwain was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and a hard worker. He was a truck driver and mechanic for Hillandale Egg Company and Hilgert’s Farm. He could often be found working on something in the garage or farm. He enjoyed hot rods, especially his 1948 Mercury. Dwain was an avid Cleveland Indians and Cavs fan.
Dwain is survived by his beloved wife Dolores, whom he married September 10, 1966. Also surviving are their children: Joan (Robert) Crookston, Julie Heldreth, and Daniel (Julie) Heldreth; grandchildren: Andrew, Adam, and Rachel Crookston, Alexander and Clare Heldreth; as well as his brothers Dale (Donna) Heldreth and Jim (Suzie) Heldreth.
Dwain was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Violet Heldreth.
His wishes for cremation are being honored. Friends and family will be received Friday, June 8, 2018, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend William Kraynak on Saturday at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 409 W. Main St., Ravenna (Please meet at the church). Final resting place will be St. Mary Cemetery in Ravenna.
