

Sister Agnes Rose (Agnes Rose Julie Havlik) a Sister of Notre Dame de Namur, died on October 9, 2013, at the age of 74, in the 57th year of her religious life. She was born on September 22, 1933, in Dayton, OH. Sister Agnes Rose is preceded in death by her parents, Peter Havlik and Bessie Matinek. Her passing is mourned by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, her sister, Helen Bradburn, brother Joseph and his wife, Billie, nieces, Melissa Blackburn, Angela Petito, and Samantha Bradburn and nephews, Peter Jason and Benjamin Havlik.
Sister Agnes Rose taught in elementary grades in St. Veronica School, and Catholic Central Community School in Hamilton, OH, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School and St. Peter and Paul School in Reading, OH, Corryville Catholic School in Cincinnati, OH. She also taught in St. Victor School, Calumet City, IL and St. Theresa School in Phoenix, AZ. In all these educational endeavors, Sister was known as a dedicated teacher, who used her gift of creativity with little children, as she helped them explore their relationship with God and prepared them for First Communion. She took special interest in those students who struggled to learn or lived in difficult family situations.
Her simplicity, sense of humor and quiet cheerfulness were always evident in her community life and relationships with her sisters.
The visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, from 1:30-2:45 at Mount Notre Dame Health Center, 699 E. Columbia Avenue, Cincinnati (513-821-7448), followed by the Mass of Christian burial and interment. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Retirement Fund of the Sisters of Notre Dame, 701 E. Columbia Avenue, Cincinnati OH, 45215.
