Caryl Ann Jackson born October 7, 1953, Cincinnati, Ohio, passed on Tuesday, December 18th, 2018 in Fairfield, Ohio at the age of 65. Caryl was born to the late Rosa Mary Redd and Samuel King. After her mother married Tommie Jackson, he adopted Caryl and loved and treated her as his own. In her early years Caryl attended St. Michael’s Catholic School, Sharonville, and graduated from Mt. Notre Dame High School, Reading, with the class of 1971. Caryl attended the University of Cincinnati where she obtained her Bachelor's of Arts Degree and minored in Fashion Design in 1984. Caryl’s early love for children inspired her to be instrumental in starting the 4-H program in the Hazelwood a Community of Blue Ash. To help keep the children involved in activities throughout their teen years. Caryl dedicated many years to the Head Start program, YMCA, Cincinnati Public schools and in her latter years the School of Creative and Performing Arts. She designed and worked on various costumes for the school’s yearly theatrical productions. Caryl started ballet and tap lessons at a very young age with her sisters. Because of her love for dance she continued to participate in instructional dance classes into her adult hood. She also was a devoted employee to Sear’s for over 30 years in the Tri-County location.
Caryl is preceded in death by her parents Tommy Eugene Jackson and Rosa Mary Redd Jackson and her sister Cardinal Beth Ann Hilton. She is survived by her brothers; Rondo G. (Loraine) Jackson of Big Clifty, KY, Tommie R. (Ricky) Jackson, Rodney E. (Buzzy) Jackson, sisters; Marianne C. Jackson, Tommie E. (Frank) Velligas and Taffy A. Jackson, all of Cincinnati.
Caryl was a devoted daughter, sister and aunt to her nieces and nephews. Teaching was her passion and she was an inspirational mentor that fellow colleagues and students alike will cherish the many memories of all fun and interesting adventures she took them on. A Memorial Gathering for Caryl will be held Friday January 18th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Schmidt Dhonau Kucner Funeral Home 8633 Reading Road, Reading OH.
