

Sister Jeanne McGlone (formerly Sister Regina Joseph), a Sister of Notre Dame de Namur, died on Tuesday, April 18, 2012, at the age of 76 in the 59th year of her religious life. She was born on July 23, 1935, in Philadelphia, PA. Sister Jeanne is preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Emily (Stanton) McGlone. Her passing is mourned by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, her sister Mary Em McGlone, MMS, and by loving cousins and other family members and friends.
Sister Jeanne taught in schools in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Washington DC. She served as principal in Little Flower School (Great Mills MD), St. Peter School (Waldorf MD) and Good Shepherd School (Perryville MD) and as pastoral associate at Holy Face Parish (Great Mills MD). She served the Sisters of Notre Dame as Administrator of Julie Billiart Residence (Washington DC), as member of the Maryland Unit Leadership Team and in ministry to the retired sisters at Villa St. Michael (Emmitsburg MD).
Sister Jeanne was gifted with a pleasant personality and a sincere concern for the children and adults with whom she worked. Her goal was to reach out to others in a way that strengthened each person’s sense of self-worth. Just as she lived with enthusiasm, she accepted death with a conscious peace. Her passing is mourned by all who knew her.
Visitation will take place on Monday, April 23, 2012 from 2:00 – 2:45 at Mount Notre Dame Health Center, 699 E. Columbia Avenue, Cincinnati (513-821-7448), followed by the Mass of Christian burial at 3:00 and interment after the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Retirement Fund of the Sisters of Notre Dame, 701 E. Columbia Avenue, Cincinnati OH 45215. Funeral arrangements: Schmidt-Dhonau-Kucner Funeral Home.
