

Anna May S. (Haas) Hoffman, 90, of Sumter, SC and formerly of Reading, passed away peacefully at National Healthcare in Sumter, SC on Friday, July 19, 2013. She was the loving wife of the late, Kenneth C. Hoffman.
Born in York on July 14, 1923, Anna May was a daughter of the late LeRoy D. and Mary A. (Spohn) Haas.
She was a graduate of Muhlenberg High School, class of 1942. She was a member of Rosedale United Church of Christ.
Anna May was employed with the former Bamford & Kemp Drug Store in Reading, the American Red Cross and finally at Acme Markets Grocery Store in the meat department for over 22 years, before retiring in 1978.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda J. and her husband, James P. Adams of Sumter, SC, and Joan M. and her husband, Marc H. Douglass of Sumter, SC; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are two sisters, LaRene S. Sharp of Temple and Mary Louise S. Abell of Reading.
In addition to her husband, Kenneth, Anna May was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Jane Dautrich; grandson, David T. Hoffman; and two brothers, LeRoy S. and Jack S. Haas.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading is assisting the family with the arrangements. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reading. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Anna May S. Hoffman, American Cancer Society , Sumter Relay For Life , 950 48th Ave. N, Suite 101, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577, Attn: Tracy Gooley.
